CAN YOU SEE 'HIM' ON YOUR TREE???

I made the trip up the attic a few days ago to get the Christmas tree and ornaments down. Now that the tree is up, I love looking at it garnished in red and silver ornaments with large red plaid ribbon trimmed in silver streaming down from the top of the tree and swirling to the bottom. Lots and lots of clear lights twinkle on my tree and on top is an angel trimmed in silver that lights up. At the base of the tree is a red skirt that circles around my tree.

As I said, I love just staring at my tree because to me it is beautiful. As I'm looking at my tree I hear a voice inside asking "Can you see Me on your tree?" I realize it is the Lord speaking and I said "Why yes Lord, I CAN see you on my tree."

"The angel on top reminds me of the angel that visited Mary that told her you would be carried in her womb. The angel reminds me of the shepherds in the field that saw a host of angels the night you were born. The stars on my tree also remind me of the shepherds in the field that night of your birth and of the wise men that saw the star in the east. The gifts under the tree remind me of the gifts the wise men brought to you. The evergreen tree reminds me of your eternal being. You have been here from the beginning of time and will always be. I see your birth upon my tree!"

Again I hear "Can you see Me on your tree?" And as I look, I can see another dimension in my tree. I see Him on the cross, that tree He was crucified on. I see a crown of thorns at the top of my tree around the angel, with blood flowing down through the red plaid ribbons. All the ornaments have names of sins, sicknesses, and diseases written on them covered with red blood. At the base, the skirt has become a circle of blood around the cross that's in my tree. "I can see you crucified on my tree!"

Again I hear "Can you see Me on your tree?" As I look, I see still another dimension in my tree. I see Him sitting on a throne. I see many crowns upon His head around the angel on my tree along with the crown of thorns. I see life giving water flowing through the red plaid ribbons along with the blood I saw before. I see glory coming from His throne in the lights upon my tree. All the ornaments with sin, sickness, and diseases, I see the words over them, Messiah, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. I see a crystal sea that looks as sapphire around the throne, around the base of my tree, the tree skirt where the circle of blood is. "I can see you on your throne in my tree!"

After today, I will see my tree differently and I'm sure more will be added as I look upon my tree in the days to come.

This Christmas....CAN YOU SEE HIM ON YOUR TREE!!!!!!!!

  9. Oh wow. This was really something. As I was reading this I am sitting on my couch taking glances at my tree. This post made me really think. Your tree sounds beautiful but the thoughts of Christ were even more beautiful. I especially love your thoughts about the ribbons streaming down. What a precious Savior we have.

  13. Beautiful! As we were decorating the tree on Sunday, we hung the little "present" made with 5 year old hands so many years ago, with John 3:16 in glitter glue. I see Him on my tree. Thank you for another precious reminder of His Presence.
