This is one of those moments I'll never forget. My grand-daughter Allison just recently turned three and if you read a previous post about her and her mother, you will know what a difficult pregnancy my daughter had while carrying her. Because of that, my daughter is not sure that she will ever want to get pregnant again even though she wants another child.
Many of Allison's friends are getting baby sisters and brothers and so she wants a baby sister too. We told her she would have to ask Jesus and so she does. Quite frequently!!!! !!
Recently she went to visit one of her friends that had just brought a baby sister home from the hospital. When Allison got to their home, she walked in and said to the new mother, "I asked Jesus for a baby sister but He didn't bring me one."
She tells everyone that she is getting a baby sister!!!! She had the ladies at day-care convinced that she was getting one. She will look up and say "Jesus can I have a baby sister?"
She missed church Sunday because she hadn't been feeling well so when church was over, we went to visit her. I was helping her wash her hands in the restroom and as I laid my hands on her I said "Jesus help Allison to feel better. Amen!
It was like a light came on in her little head and she got so excited and jumped down from her step and turned to me with those big blue eyes and said "Nanna, you ask Jesus to bring me a baby sister then say Amen!"
I said "I don't know about that" and she said "Yes Nanna, you ask Jesus to bring me a baby sister then say Amen!"
She realized the power of agreement and she was wanting me to come into agreement with her. Her mother looked at me with a look that said "Don't you dare!"
Matthew 18:19...Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
It will not surprise me if Allison eventually gets what she is praying for. I'll let you know when that prayer is answered. :)

Jesus, I ask You to bring Allison a baby sister. Amen!
ReplyDeletePrecious! The faith of children is such an inspiration! Your granddaughter is fortunate to have such a woman of faith as her Nanna!
ReplyDeleteOh what faith! When my daughter was 2 she was the same way always wanting a baby sibling. She didn't really have a preference. I finally told her to just pray and ask Jesus and she did and when she was 4 Jesus answered both our prayers and she now has a baby brother. Of course now that she's 16 I'm sure she wishes she never prayed that pray! Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteI love this story!!
So glad you blogged this :o) I thought you would. How blessed Allison is to have you for her "Nanna" and being taught the truth of God's word and about prayer at such a tender age.
ReplyDeleteSusan
What a little sweetheart! The prayers of children are so full of faith and so innocent. I'll be waiting to hear how this one is answered!
ReplyDeleteLove that fervent, faith-filled prayer of a little girl. How blessed she is to have you!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have a three year old granddaughtr too? And mine call me "Nanna" spelled exactly the same! Isn't it wonderful how they are so simply trusting. Amen! I have a sneaky feeling that this is one prayer that's going to get answered! Oh, and by the way, she's absolutely adorable!
ReplyDeleteI truly loved it.
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is such a sweetie and we will pray that her prayers are answered.
You truly are a great Nanna.
Hugs
A child's faith is so beautiful. She is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI love the new look of your blog.
That is so sweet and precious! maybe He will answer her prayer in an unexpected way:) ~Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThat is so precious! I do know first hand the faith of a child as that is exactly what my daughter kept praying even when I had given up.
ReplyDeleteNow she has an 8 year old sister!
How priceless. If only our faith would be so pure and without the fear that often comes along with the knowledge of a situation.
ReplyDeleteGod knows the desire of that little girl's heart and we stand in agreement with His will for her families lives. (in Jesus name!)
The faith of children is such an inspiration! Your granddaughter is fortunate to have such a woman of faith as her Nanna! Work From Home
ReplyDeleteWhen my daughter was 4 she told me there was a baby sister waiting up in Heaven for us.
ReplyDeleteI told her "Well she will just have to wait."
I said "Do you know her name." "Mister Megan" was the reply.
I laughed.
Two weeks later I found out I was pregnant.
We recieved a baby girl that we named Megan.
I have an award for you over at my blog! ~Blessings!
