I'm Spending Christmas With Jesus Christ This Year!!

As some of you may know, Billy Joe Daugherty went to heaven a few weeks ago. He was a man that was truly about building God's Kingdom and he is already greatly missed. Yesterday, December 15, 2009 Oral Roberts made his way to heaven also. I'm sure everyone knows this man and the healing ministry he was involved in. Both of these men's ministries were across the road from each other in Tulsa Oklahoma so we here in OK have two great men that we will miss very much.

There is a song by David Ingles that comes to mind..... "There's a whole lot of people going home, and by the signs of time it won't be long. In the twinkling of an eye we'll all be gone. There's a whole lot of people going home."

My very good friend Cindy, also had her mother go to heaven the same week as Billy Joe, and I can only imagine the empty space that is left in her heart right now.

I lost my good friend Debbie, a few years ago right before Christmas and the poem below was read at her service. I dedicate this poem to Cindy, Wantha Ann, Susan C., the Daugherty family, the Roberts family, Tiffany at Southern Sass and all of you that have a love one that has moved to heaven.

I'M SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR!!

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below,
With tiny lights like heaven's stars, reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away that tear.
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year!

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can't compare
with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you of the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart,
but just remember one day soon we'll no longer be apart.
I can't tell you of the splendor or the peace here in this place,
Can you just imagine Chritmas with our Savior, face to face?

I'll ask Him to light your spirit as I tell Him of your love,
so pray for one another as you lift your eyes above.
Please let your hearts be joyful and let your spirits sing,
For I'm spending Christmas in heaven
And I'm walking with the King!!!

Please feel free to use this poem if you want to honor your love one on your blog. I'd love to hear about them as I'm sure many others would too.

Out Of The Mouth Of Babes

This is one of those moments I'll never forget. My grand-daughter Allison just recently turned three and if you read a previous post about her and her mother, you will know what a difficult pregnancy my daughter had while carrying her. Because of that, my daughter is not sure that she will ever want to get pregnant again even though she wants another child.

Many of Allison's friends are getting baby sisters and brothers and so she wants a baby sister too. We told her she would have to ask Jesus and so she does. Quite frequently!!!! !!

Recently she went to visit one of her friends that had just brought a baby sister home from the hospital. When Allison got to their home, she walked in and said to the new mother, "I asked Jesus for a baby sister but He didn't bring me one."

She tells everyone that she is getting a baby sister!!!! She had the ladies at day-care convinced that she was getting one. She will look up and say "Jesus can I have a baby sister?"

She missed church Sunday because she hadn't been feeling well so when church was over, we went to visit her. I was helping her wash her hands in the restroom and as I laid my hands on her I said "Jesus help Allison to feel better. Amen!

It was like a light came on in her little head and she got so excited and jumped down from her step and turned to me with those big blue eyes and said "Nanna, you ask Jesus to bring me a baby sister then say Amen!"

I said "I don't know about that" and she said "Yes Nanna, you ask Jesus to bring me a baby sister then say Amen!"

She realized the power of agreement and she was wanting me to come into agreement with her. Her mother looked at me with a look that said "Don't you dare!"

Matthew 18:19...Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

It will not surprise me if Allison eventually gets what she is praying for. I'll let you know when that prayer is answered. :)
