"Help us Jesus" was my cry tonight as our car spun out of control. My husband and I had gone into town early to have dinner and see my husbands parents tonight. I had commented that we needed to get home before too many people were on the road that were drinking. It was about 6:00 p.m. I was driving and as we left town we were going around a curve and hit a patch of ice. I never saw it and was driving about 55 miles an hour. It was so unreal what happened. We started spinning around in circles and went off on one side of the road and came back up onto the hightway and spun around and went to the opposite side, came back up and spun around and went to the other side of the road each time leaving the highway. We traveled about a quarter of a mile. We came to a stop right before we hit some trees. It's a miracle that we didn't roll. I told my husband that it just didn't seem real as it was happening. I had no control over my car and that was very frightening.
All I could say was "Help us Jesus" over and over as we were spinning out of control. When we stopped, I couldn't quit praising the Lord. I am so thankful we weren't hurt, our car wasn't wrecked, and that no one else was on the highway at the time. We did have to call a wrecker to come and pull us out. We had a man stop to check on us because he hit the same patch and almost lost control of his vehicle too.
This will be a New Year's Eve that will go down in my history book as one of the many times God supernaturally protected us and I'll never forget it.
I pray a safe and happy New Year to all of you and if you are ever in a bind, call on that precious name of Jesus.

Praise God, Sandra! That had to be scary. Thank God for His peace.
ReplyDeleteHe is so wonderful!
Praising God with you for His protection! As we were driving home tonight from a party, we saw a truck nearly plow over a little car. Only God kept them from having a terrible accident right in front of us. We had prayed Ps. 91 and the Blood of Jesus when we left to go to the party, and the Blood still stands!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were protected. As He so often does, He gave you more than you asked for. Not only did He protect you, He also protected your car. Praising Him with you!
ReplyDeleteSandra, we are praying for you, and know the Lord has his very watchful eye upon you. A blessed and thanks-filled New Year to you!

ReplyDeleteOh my Sandra!!! Satan was trying to take you out because he knows God's plans and purposes for you in this New Year BUT GOD is always the victor and our protector. "Thy word is in my mouth!!!!" I know this is always true of you.
ReplyDeleteOur love & ((hugs)) and blessings to you TWO for this New Year and all it holds for all of us.
Susan (& Mickey, too)
Oh my! Thank the Lord for His mercies to you guys! He is able and you called on the right Name for protection.
ReplyDeletePraying for a safe and happy 2010, in Christ, of course.
You were very fortunate!!! Our daughter had a similar experience and ended up turning upside down last year and totaling her car. She called me as she hung in her seat strapped in by her seat belt holding her Bible and her phone upside down. We felt thankful that she was alive and not hurt! The enemy has tried several times to cause her harm in her car. The car(s) has sustained much a damage, but she is alive and well without a scratch!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's an amazing story! Praise God that you both are safe! That reminds me of that song, "Jesus Take the Wheel" by Carrie Underwood. You are such a woman of faith! I hope 2010 is your best year yet.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord you are both alright! God is so good to those He loves. I am so so glad you are alright! Blessings to you are your husband this New Year!
