SHE DESERVES SOME TLC!
We are being warned here in Oklahoma about the cold weather that will be coming in tonight so I decided to fix our cat 'Billie' a place to sleep in the garage. She is at least 15 years old and has been a good barn cat all these years. She has caught many mice and rats out there in that barn and many times would bring her trophies up here to the house to show off. Since she is getting old we decided to get a kitten for her to train but she doesn't like that cat so she stays up here at the house on the porch. As I was fixing her a warm place in the garage for the rest of the winter she stood there purring as I was fixing it and as soon as I finished she jumped in and layed down.
I have quite a story to tell about Billie. She came from a litter of kittens that were born out in our barn during the winter. My daughter, being the animal lover that she is, went out to the barn one evening to check on the kittens. They were born on top of the hay that was stacked in the barn several feet up. One kitten had fallen down off the hay and had frozen. Amanda brought the kitten to the house and wrapped it in a blanket and sat by the fireplace rubbing it and praying for it.
Now this cat was dead and it was frozen. It's tongue was hanging out and stuff was running out its nose. She kept rubbing it and praying for it and she would use an eye dropper and try to squirt warm milk in its mouth. I heard my husband say "Sugar, that kitten is dead." But she kept on trying to nurse it back. After an hour of this we hear this sound in the living room that sounded like a billie goat. "Maaaa" It was that little kitten and before the night was over that little kitten was running around the house playing but it's meow sounded like a little goat. And that's how Billie got her name.

I LOVE that story! What a faithful praying daughter! Wow, I can't wait to tell the children that story-they'll love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a story! It shows the "faith of a child". I'm glad Billie has given you so much love and affection over these years!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat story! And she is still so pretty. Glad you can give her TLC for the winter and that she is enjoying her new bed.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a Little House on the Prairie story. Love it!
ReplyDeleteCan't imagine the cold weather for outdoor pets. I'm glad my kitty is laying right in front of the heat register :) She's spoiled!
An adorable story about the cat, your daughter, you, and the love and training in your home :o) Perfect name for sure. Does she still purr that sound?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like my picture for today. You are welcome to take it for your daughter if she wants it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful story!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm so glad your New Years Eve turned out okay. Last year I slid on ice as I was going down the hill right before this one lane bridge near our house. Another car was coming up the hill, sliding all the way and he finally stopped as I started sliding towards him. All I could say was, "Jesus," over and over again and came to a stop just in front of the other car. God is in control!
Both your stories gave me goosebumps. Thanks for the kind comments on my blog earlier!
That's great! I didn't know that story, but I'm not surprised that our Father showed Himself to your dear daughter like that. He is faithful to honor the prayer of faith!
ReplyDeleteLove it! And the name! Did the cat always sound like a billy goat after that?
ReplyDeleteHow are you feeling after your frightening experience the other night?
I know exactly what you are talking about. When I youngest daughter was about 7yrs she did the same thing with her pet hen called brownie. You could never convinced her that God does not answer prayer. She pour in the methoiolate and prayed.
ReplyDeleteShe DOES deserve some TLC! I love this story of your daughter's faith. She saved a life. She didn't give up! What a nurturer! I bet I know where did she learned that! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great story! Love the name.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment on my picture. No, I haven't taken classes, but it's nice of you to think so!
ReplyDeleteThat was a great story. I just loved it.
ReplyDeleteShe sure does deserve some TLC.
I read your post about your accident and I must say I sure am glad that GOD was your co-pilot that night. It sounded like that song Jesus take the wheel. I love that song.
Prayers for you and I hope everyone stays warm.
GOD bless

ReplyDeleteYour daughter is amazing. She didn't give up. I can't believe she nursed that baby back to life. Poor kitty, used up all its nine lives at one time.
